Xiangru Xu
I received my B.S. degree from Beijing Normal University, Beijing in 2009, and my Ph.D. degree from Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing in 2014. I was a postdoc scholar at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor between 2014 and 2017, and the University of Washington, Seattle between 2017 and 2019. I joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Fall 2019, where I am currently an assistant professor. My research interests include control theory, autonomy, convex optimization, and machine learning. I received NSF CAREER Award in 2023, and my paper received IEEE Transactions on Automation Science and Engineering Best New Application Paper Award in 2019.
